Project "Connecting Cultures Slovenia - Triglav National Park Euro – Arab Expedition"

UNESCO Youth Platform within UNA Slovenia has launched pilot project "Triglav National Park Euro – Arab Expedition". It's prepared in scope of the Connecting Cultures initiative.

The expedition will last from 2 till 7 October 2016 in the beautiful environment of the Triglav National Park in Slovenia.

The organizing team is committed to build sustaining partnerships with youth organisations in the EURO-ARAB regions and to support organisations and young people from that regions to be involved in the youth programme - meet each other, share knowledge and ideas, and build partnerships with a view to future cooperation.

The main objective is to share best practice among youth organisations in the respective countries through international and intercultural cooperation.

Participants:
• Aged between 18-29.
• Strong motivation to learn how to develop a youth exchange within our youth programme.
• Ability to work in the English language.
• Willing to take part in all  activities, actively contribute and share ideas.
• Available to attend the full course.
• Open-minded, enthusiastic, and interested in getting to know and work with people of other nationalities.
• Interested in working with non-formal education methodologies.
• Participants are expected to be respectful of their surroundings (nature).
• 5 from Arab countries and 5 from EU.

Venue:
This will be a walking expedition therefore the group will not be based just on one place. Participants will first meet in capital Ljubljana (Slovenia), where they will be accommodated in a hostel. The transfer to the mountain region will be arranged, where the group will start the trekking expedition. Each day the group will be based in a (mountain) cottage of the Triglav National Park.

The project is organized by UN Association of Slovenia and funded by the Slovenian National Commission for UNESCO.
